Pivot Door Hardware Selection Guide: WF061, WF062 And WF060

Sep 02, 2026

Pivot doors create wide openings, strong architectural lines and a distinctive movement experience. They are widely used for wooden doors, aluminum-frame doors, interior partitions, villas, offices, hotels and commercial showrooms. However, selecting the correct pivot door hardware requires more than checking a maximum load figure.

The hardware must match the finished door weight, center-axis or offset-axis layout, axis-to-opening-edge distance, frame structure, opening angle and closing requirements. TEMAX WF061, WF062 and WF060 perform different roles within this selection process.

1. Understand the Role of Each Model

WF061 Hydraulic center-axis door actuator 液压中心轴门液动器 Framed center-axis doors; 60 kg and 100 kg configurations 有框中心轴门;60 kg及100 kg配置
Wooden or aluminum-frame offset-axis doors; 120 kg and 150 kg configurations 木门或铝框偏轴门;120 kg及150 kg配置
WF060 Adjustable upper seat and top axis Used with center-axis or offset-axis framed-door systems

WF061 and WF062 should not be selected only by comparing their load ratings. WF061 is intended for a center-axis layout, while WF062 is intended for an offset-axis layout. The different axis positions create different torque, clearance and installation conditions.

WF060 is not a separate floor closer. It is the adjustable upper-seat and top-axis component used to complete and align the framed-door pivot system.

2. Calculate the Finished Door Weight

The finished door weight must include the door core, surface panels, glass, aluminum profiles, locks, handles and decorative components. A reasonable engineering margin should be reserved instead of selecting hardware that operates continuously at its maximum rating.

60 kg ≤650 mm Positioning at 0°, 90°, 180° and 270° 0°,90°,180°及270°定位
WF061.100 Center axis 中心轴 100 kg ≤1000 mm Positioning at 0°, 90°, 180° and 270° 0°,90°,180°及270°定位

A door can remain within the maximum weight limit but still exceed the recommended axis-distance limit. Weight and axis position must therefore be reviewed together.

3. Choose Between a Center Axis and an Offset Axis

A center-axis door rotates around an axis positioned closer to the center of the door leaf. This arrangement creates balanced architectural proportions and allows the door to divide its swing between both sides of the axis. WF061 is designed for this type of framed-door layout.

An offset-axis door places the pivot closer to one side of the door. This arrangement can improve the effective passage width and may better suit conventional walking routes, but the longer axis-to-edge distance increases the importance of torque and structural reinforcement. WF062 is designed for offset-axis wooden doors and aluminum-frame doors with a door thickness greater than 38 mm.

For WF062, the bottom-frame internal width should be at least 34 mm. Before production, confirm the aluminum-profile or wooden-door cross-section and ensure that sufficient material remains around the machined channel.

4. Confirm Opening and Positioning Angles

WF061 supports positioning at 0°, 90°, 180° and 270°, making it suitable for center-axis doors that require multiple operating positions. The available space must be checked around the complete door movement path.

WF062 supports two-way opening and closing, a maximum opening angle of 125° and auxiliary positioning at 90°. Nearby walls, furniture, switches and glass panels should be checked before approving the final pivot position.

The required opening and positioning angles should be marked on the floor plan and installation drawing before machining begins.

5. Review Hydraulic Closing Control

Both WF061 and WF062 use two-stage closing-speed control. The main closing movement and final closing section can be adjusted according to the finished door condition.

The final setting is affected by door mass, seals, indoor air pressure, lock resistance and operating frequency. Hotels and offices usually prioritize quiet, controlled closing, while entrance doors may require stronger final closing force to overcome seals or a latch.

Closing speed should always be tested on the completely assembled door. Do not finalize the adjustment on an unloaded mechanism.

6. Use WF060 for Upper-Axis Alignment

WF060 uses SS304 material and includes an adjustable upper seat with a Ø12 mm precision-cast top axis. It supports left-right and inside-outside adjustment and includes a wire hole for framed-door applications.

WF060 can be used with center-axis or offset-axis aluminum-frame doors. The adjustment function helps correct the upper pivot position and align the door gaps after the door leaf has been installed.

7. Installation Planning and Quality Checks

Verify that the finished floor and base structure can carry the complete door load.
Confirm the pivot axis on both the shop drawing and the site floor plan.
Check the door-frame section, machining dimensions and reinforcement method before production.
Install and align the door before adjusting the hydraulic valves.
Test the complete opening range and confirm that there is no collision or abnormal noise.
Recheck fasteners and door gaps after the initial run-in period.
Keep technical access available for future adjustment and maintenance.

Information Required for a Pivot Door Recommendation

Send TEMAX the finished door height, width, thickness and weight; door and frame materials; center-axis or offset-axis requirement; axis-to-opening-edge distance; required opening and positioning angles; daily operating frequency; installation environment; and project quantity.

Providing a door drawing, sectional drawing or short installation video will further improve selection accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main difference between WF061 and WF062?

WF061 is intended for center-axis framed doors and is available in 60 kg and 100 kg configurations. WF062 is intended for offset-axis wooden or aluminum-frame doors and is available in 120 kg and 150 kg configurations.

Is WF060 a hydraulic door closer?

No. WF060 is the adjustable upper-seat and top-axis component used with the pivot-door system. It assists with upper-axis installation and door-gap alignment.

Can WF061 stop at 90 degrees?

Yes. The verified WF061 information lists positioning at 0°, 90°, 180° and 270°.

What is the maximum opening angle of WF062?

WF062 supports a maximum opening angle of 125° and auxiliary positioning at 90°.

How should a heavier pivot door be selected?

Do not extrapolate these specifications to a heavier door. A heavier configuration requires a separate review of the model, door structure, axis position and installation environment, together with the corresponding latest TEMAX technical drawing.

Choose the Correct Pivot Door System

Correct pivot door hardware selection begins with the door structure and axis layout. WF061 provides a center-axis solution for 60 kg and 100 kg framed doors. WF062 provides an offset-axis solution for 120 kg and 150 kg wooden or aluminum-frame doors. WF060 completes the system with an adjustable upper seat and top axis.
